MONOPRINT COMMISSIONS

MONOPRINT ONE

Monoprint
Nana and D

As part of my BA Honours Degree I did a series of monoprints on photocopied layers of shopping lists and collected receipts referencing the connections between the generations of women in my family held within the grind of daily shopping. Caught here is an unusual moment for my Nana. Posing in her back garden for the family photograph with my brother D.

MONOPRINT COMMISSIONS

If you are energised by my work, Commissions are the way forward for you.

Monoprinting is a wonderful meditative form of printing. It is achieved by hand and no printing press is necessary. I was able to carry on monoprinting from my Covid kitchen studio in Brighton as part of my BA(Hons) Fine Art Degree. Currently I'm working on a Fine Art MA at The University of Brighton and Monoprinting is still an important part of my practice.

Monoprinting works beautifully from photographs as you will see. It also lends itself to building a commission around a personal idea such as with my lists and receipts below.

I can work from your photographs and add small sections of text, a decorative image, a loved travel receipt or newspaper quote, or simply a splash of colour.

The main monoprinted sections work well in blue or black printing inks.

The finished commission aims to be no larger than 21 cm X 30 cm (A4).

Commissions prices start at £150.00/€165.00 for 15 cm X 21 cm (A5) sized works and £200.00/€220.00 for 21 cm X 30 cm (A4).

MONOPRINT TWO

Monoprint R

My daughter R when she was a baby. I've simplified the image and added a soft pink ink paired with architects tracing paper. The slight blurring of the eyes and lips adding to the atmosphere of the pose. Notice the monoprint is always a mirror image of the photograph itself.

MONOPRINT THREE

A detail from one of my Degree projects.

The monoprints were mounted on board and paired with strips of photographic paper, adding

relevant oil colour samples.

Daughter R's Nursery ID Card.

Instead of adding colour to her dress, I've added the stripe of grey from her dress to a photo card

sample of grey oil colour. The mustard yellow paint skin referencing her lively energy, and the red

acrylic paint her precious Nursery lunch bag.
